IT Optimization in HealthCare – the
key notion of optimization raises the question
of frames of references against which to ‘measure’ whether
one proposed or implemented solution will be
better than another. Will the frame of reference
be economical and express result criteria in
terms of efficiency, effectiveness and productivity?
In practice, it will not be a matter of choosing
one or the other, but of finding and implementing
solutions that negotiates and balances multiple
frames simultaneously, and builds on the inclusion
of advanced and new technologies - not only medical
technology, but given the large distances and
network structure of the health care configuration,
must build on transportation of digitalized data
and information, communication technologies,
IT-Infrastructures for data transmission and
administrative tools for simulating, monitoring
and coordinating the flow of patients and information.
The IMI Forum will serve as a dynamic platform
where senior executives and architects will find
access to new and nontraditional products, solutions
and strategies for increasing service quality
and reducing costs through selective business
process operations and management of smart sourcing
and services.
